About to board the plane so I should be there in a couple of hours. I hope it’ll be okay with you if we don’t talk about Afghanistan. It wasn’t bad this time. We all made it home. But I’m tired and all I really want is you.
(This is something. Not a sequel, but something. Stay tuned.)
Can you share a book recommendation of something you have read recently with us?
Wildlife by Fiona Wood, Red by Alison Cherry, First Third by William Kostakis, Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller. Alison Cherry and Trish Doller are U.S. writers, and Fiona and Will are Australian writers, and I have loved all four books for four different reasons. There’s just different energies. Most of them are coming out in the next six months.

Thrilled. Honored. Thrilled and honored and just…wow.
There is NOTHING better than hearing from a teacher or a librarian or directly from a reader that your book was the one that made someone want to read.
Want a sneak peek of WHERE THE STARS STILL SHINE? For today only, just go to my website, click the cover of the book, and voila! The first chapter, just for you.
You know, it was fun to scroll through “the colour of the sky” the first time, but now I cringe when I see it.
COUNTDOWN TO COVER REVEAL DAY 7
Tomorrow we’ll be revealing the cover of WHERE THE STARS STILL SHINE at Making the Grade reviews and I can’t wait for you to see it!
But today, tumblr, I have a contest just for you. Seriously. I will not be tweeting about this. I will not be mentioning this contest on twitter or facebook. And only tumblr followers are eligible to win.
Here’s the prize:
(It’s a Greek bag I picked up in Tarpon Springs, which is the setting for WHERE THE STARS STILL SHINE, and there might just be a surprise or two inside.)
And here are the rules:
1. If you want to win, LIKE this post.
2. If you win, you have to be willing to give me your real name and snail mail address so I can send you the prize. (I know we can be an anonymous crowd here on tumblr, so don’t enter if that’s a problem).
3. I’ll be choosing a random winner (using random.org) at 9pm EST and the contest is open to international followers.
Good luck! And I hope to see you at Making the Grade tomorrow for the reveal!
UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who entered! The winner, chosen yesterday by random.org was thomasfinchmackee.
