TWO PIECES OF COOL NEWS:
1. My husband and I are going to Germany in September to visit family and friends we haven’t seen in a very long time, but…
2. We’ll be home in time for the SEPTEMBER 24th release of WHERE THE STARS STILL SHINE. Not October…SEPTEMBER!

Yesterday on twitter I mentioned that I would have some news soon. Well, here we go:
The book formerly known as ALL THAT WAS LOST* will NOT be coming out in February of 2014, but has been moved forward to fall 2013. EARLIER, friends. EARLIER. And I’m really, really excited about that. Not sure of the exact month yet, but when I know, you’ll know. You know?
*And yeah, the title will be changing, too, but that’s news for another day, because I have no idea.
It is official…
World English rights to BFYA-nominated SOMETHING LIKE NORMAL author Trish Doller’s next contemporary novel ALL THAT WAS LOST, in which 17-year-old Callie, after spending most of her life on the run with the manic depressive mother who abducted her, is reunited with her father and extended Greek family in Tarpon Springs, Florida, to Victoria Wells-Arms at Bloomsbury USA, by Kate Schafer Testerman of kt literary, for publication in February 2014.
I’m so excited to finally be able to tell you about this book! It’s been a long time in the making, and I can’t wait to introduce you to Callie, her family, and the unique real life town of Tarpon Springs. ALL THAT WAS LOST is sweet, sad, and sexy, and contains absolutely no Marines.
To find out more, visit Ginger at GReads!, where you can read a longer summary of the book, and check out some photos and music that inspired me while I was writing. Also, don’t forget to add ALL THAT WAS LOST on goodreads!
My birthday isn’t until Thursday, but we’re celebrating all week long with prizes for you. In fact, there are four ways you can win a copy of SOMETHING LIKE NORMAL.
1. Don’t forget that you have until April 30 to enter to win a pre-order copy of the book, along with a mix CD of the official playlist from Ginger at GReads!
2. I’ll be guest posting today on Why I Write at Tangled Up in Words, where you can enter to win a huge prize pack that includes a copy of SLN.
3. And from now until midnight on Thursday you can visit my website to enter for an annotated ARC of SOMETHING LIKE NORMAL, which includes margin notes about my favorite parts of the book, inspirations for characters, and other behind-the-scenes kind of things! Also, this contest is open to international entrants, so if you didn’t think you’d have a chance to get an ARC of SLN…you do now!
But wait, Trish. You said four!
And you’re right. But I can’t tell you about your fourth chance to win until Thursday. Because it’s secret. So sit tight. And what are you still doing here? Go enter to win!

Something Like Normal was selected as a 2012 Spring New Voices title by the American Booksellers Association. And I don’t really know what else to say other than thank you. So, thank you, ABA.

It’s turned out to be an extravaganza of news because just before I left to meet up with my editor, I received an email with even more good news from her. This round concerns reviews. Specifically good ones.

So I’ll be meeting up with my editor for beers and fried food soon, but before I go I want to show you the finished jacket for Something Like Normal.

IT’S TRAVIS FRIDAY!
Hello, all you smart and sane people who chose to stay home instead of diving into the madness that is Black Friday. You’ve made a wise decision because it’s TRAVIS FRIDAY and I have lots of things to show you!

So I updated my website last night, rearranging a bit and adding some things. Most notably, there’s an excerpt from SOMETHING LIKE NORMAL that wasn’t there before. You can read it, if you like.
